Description
The 40 inch steel work cart gives mechanics, contractors, and workshop users a practical mobile station for organizing tools. Milwaukee designed this two-drawer cart to combine a durable steel frame, flexible storage, and a convenient work surface. Its rolling design helps keep frequently used equipment close at hand in garages and jobsites.
Organized Storage and a Useful Work Surface
The Milwaukee 40 inch steel work cart, model 48-22-8590, offers more than a place to store tools. Its large top tray supports up to 300 pounds and includes a three-section parts tray plus two removable storage cups. Turn the cups upside down to create a flatter surface, or remove them when you need room for longer items stored vertically.
Reinforced V-notches help hold pipe or lumber in place during measuring or cutting. Use the tray to organize parts and prepare materials. Secure workpieces and follow safe cutting practices.
Two Drawers and Flexible Storage
The cart features a soft-close top drawer rated for up to 100 pounds and a sliding bottom tray rated for up to 200 pounds. The lower tray offers space for larger equipment, including compatible tool organizers and selected bulky items. Two movable storage bins can be positioned inside, outside, or on the top tray to suit your workflow.
A fold-out rear shelf provides another work surface and supports up to 50 pounds. It can hold a laptop. The cart also includes an adjustable-height storage bar, a two-position knurled push handle, and rubber corner bumpers that help protect nearby equipment from accidental contact.
Built-In Power and Easy Mobility
An integrated power center provides four AC outlets and two USB charging ports for compatible electronics, tools, and battery packs. Cord hooks help keep the power cord organized. Check the electrical ratings and local requirements before connecting equipment, and unplug the cart before moving it.
Industrial casters help users move the workstation around the workshop. Two swiveling casters include brakes, while the fixed casters support controlled movement. Lock the brakes when the cart is parked, and keep the load balanced before pushing it across the floor.
Product Specifications
The Milwaukee 48-22-8590 has a 40-inch-wide work surface and assembled dimensions of approximately 45 inches wide, 22.1 inches deep, and 39 inches high. Its total rated capacity is 700 pounds. The top tray supports 300 pounds, the top drawer supports 100 pounds, the bottom tray supports 200 pounds, and the fold-out shelf supports 50 pounds. Follow the operator’s manual and do not exceed any individual component rating.
A Practical Choice for Workshops
