Description
The Milwaukee 2848-20 M18 Compact Tire Inflator gives drivers, contractors, and workshop users a portable way to inflate compatible tires without relying on a nearby outlet. Powered by Milwaukee’s M18 battery platform, this cordless inflator combines digital pressure settings with automatic shutoff to help simplify routine tire maintenance. Its compact design suits garages, service vehicles, and jobsites where convenient inflation matters.
Milwaukee 2848-20 M18 Tire Inflator Features
The inflator supports pressure settings up to 150 PSI, making it suitable for passenger-car tires, light-truck tires, and other medium-duty applications within the manufacturer’s guidance. Milwaukee’s TrueFill technology checks pressure as air enters the tire, waits for pressure to stabilize, and continues filling toward the selected target. Automatic shutoff stops inflation when the chosen pressure is reached, helping reduce the risk of overinflation when you set the unit correctly and supervise operation.
Four pressure memory presets let you save commonly used settings. The digital controls also allow users to select pressure units, including PSI, kPa, and bar. Check the vehicle or tire manufacturer’s recommended pressure before inflating, rather than relying on the maximum pressure printed on the tire sidewall.
Hose, Accessories, and Storage
A 36-inch inflation hose provides reach around a wheel, while onboard storage keeps the hose and attachments together between jobs. The package includes an all-brass Schrader chuck, inflation needle, inflator nozzle, and Presta chuck, supporting a range of suitable inflation tasks. Anti-vibration feet help keep the unit steady during operation, and the integrated handle makes it easier to move between storage and use.
Battery Compatibility and Performance
The Milwaukee 2848-20 fits Milwaukee M18 batteries, allowing existing M18 users to use their compatible battery system. The 2848-20 tool-only package generally does not include a battery or charger, so review the exact listing before ordering. Milwaukee reports that the unit can top off a 33-inch light-truck tire in under one minute under specified conditions; actual time varies with tire size, starting pressure, target pressure, battery charge, and temperature.
For verified specifications, visit the official Milwaukee 2848-20 product page. Read the official operator’s manual for setup, operating limits, and safety warnings. You can also explore Milwaukee’s M18 battery and charger range to check compatible power options.
Safe and Suitable Use
This inflator is designed for tires and other approved inflation tasks, not air tanks, shocks, breathing equipment, or spraying chemicals. Check the hose and fittings for damage before each use, secure the connection, and never exceed the pressure specified for the item being inflated. Do not leave the inflator unattended while it operates, and keep the air outlet clear.
The manual also advises allowing the tool to cool for 40 minutes after each 20 minutes of continuous use to help prevent overheating. Follow the duty-cycle guidance, keep the unit in a suitable operating environment, and stop if the tool shows signs of damage or overheating.
