Description
The Milwaukee 2831-21 plunge track saw kit brings cordless cutting power and controlled plunge action to carpenters, cabinetmakers, remodelers, and serious workshop users. This Milwaukee 2831-21 plunge track saw combines a 6-1/2-inch blade with an M18 FUEL brushless motor, helping you make accurate straight cuts in sheet goods and suitable solid-wood workpieces. The kit includes a 6.0Ah battery, rapid charger, and PACKOUT XL toolbox, so you can organize the core equipment for transport and storage.
Designed for Accurate, Clean Cuts
A track saw helps guide the blade along a straight path when paired with a compatible guide rail. This setup can be useful when trimming plywood, sizing panels, preparing cabinet components, or making long cuts where control matters. The saw’s adjustable cam system lets you fine-tune the fit between the saw and rail, helping reduce unwanted movement as you guide the tool through the cut.
Milwaukee’s POWERSTATE brushless motor and REDLINK PLUS intelligence work together to deliver performance while helping protect the tool and battery during demanding applications. The saw has a variable-speed dial, allowing you to select a suitable blade speed for the material and task. Its smooth plunge action supports controlled entry into a workpiece, while the micro-adjust depth knob helps you set cutting depth with precision.
Helpful Features for Workshop and Jobsite Use
The 6-1/2-inch saw uses a riving knife designed to help reduce the risk of material pinching the blade and causing kickback. A sliding depth stop supports quick adjustments, and onboard hex-key storage helps keep the blade-change tool close at hand. Bevel stops at 0, 22.5, and 45 degrees make common angled cuts easier to set. Milwaukee lists compatibility with 1-7/8-inch vacuum hoses, and the saw also includes a dust bag to help manage debris.
Milwaukee reports dust collection efficiency above 90% under its stated test conditions. Actual collection can vary with the material, blade, hose, and vacuum setup. For best results, use a sharp, appropriate blade and support the workpiece securely before cutting.
What Comes in the 2831-21 Kit?
The manufacturer lists the M18 FUEL 6-1/2-inch plunge track saw, one M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT XC6.0 battery pack, an M18 and M12 rapid charger, and a PACKOUT XL toolbox in the kit. The saw package also includes a blade, dust bag, and splinter guard according to Milwaukee’s product information. Guide rails are separate accessories unless your specific listing clearly says otherwise, so review the package details before ordering.
The 6.0Ah battery is part of Milwaukee’s M18 platform. If you already use compatible M18 tools, this kit can fit into your existing battery ecosystem, while the included charger supports compatible M18 and M12 packs. Always check the tool manual and battery instructions to confirm safe operation and compatibility.
For manufacturer specifications and safety guidance, consult the official Milwaukee 2831-21 product page, the Milwaukee track saw manual, and Milwaukee’s track saw announcement and accessory information.
