Description
The Milwaukee M18 FUEL compact band saw helps electricians, plumbers, metal fabricators, and contractors make controlled cuts on compatible metal stock. Model 2829-20 combines cordless convenience with a brushless motor and a balanced design, making it useful for cutting metal pipe, conduit, threaded rod, and other suitable materials on jobsites or in workshops. Its compact format supports work where a larger cutting tool may be difficult to position.
Features of the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Compact Band Saw
The saw uses Milwaukee’s POWERSTATE brushless motor and Constant Power Technology to maintain cutting performance under demanding conditions. Its cutting capacity reaches 3-1/4 by 3-1/4 inches, allowing it to handle many common metal-cutting tasks with one pass. The tool operates at up to 540 surface feet per minute (SFPM), helping users complete cuts efficiently when they select a suitable blade and material.
REDLINK PLUS intelligence coordinates the tool and compatible M18 battery to support performance and overload protection. Jobsite Armor Technology uses protective composite materials and crush-zone barriers to help protect the tool from jobsite impacts and debris. These features support durability during normal professional use, although proper handling and routine inspection remain important.
Variable Speed and Adjustable Shoe
The variable-speed trigger lets you control blade speed according to the material and cutting task. This flexibility helps when working with different metal profiles, provided the blade and speed suit the material. The tool-free locking adjustable shoe can be extended or retracted quickly, allowing you to adapt the saw’s support configuration for different cuts.
A built-in LED light illuminates the work area, helping you see the cutting line in dim spaces. The integrated rafter hook provides a convenient way to hang the tool between cuts when a suitable support is available. An all-metal direct-drive system supports durability and requires less servicing than a chain-drive design.

Suitable Applications and Safe Operation
This band saw is suitable for cutting compatible metal conduit, pipe, threaded rod, and other stock that fits within its cutting capacity. Secure the workpiece before cutting, choose a blade designed for the material, and allow the blade to reach the appropriate speed. Do not force the tool through the cut, and keep hands away from the blade and moving parts.
Wear eye protection and suitable hearing protection, and use any additional protective equipment required for the material. Metal offcuts may remain hot after cutting, so handle them carefully. Remove the battery before changing the blade or performing maintenance, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for inspection and safe operation.
Choose the Milwaukee M18 FUEL compact band saw when you need a portable cutting tool with a generous compact-saw capacity, variable speed, and cordless operation. Its adjustable shoe and integrated LED light support practical use across construction, installation, and maintenance projects.
